Volunteers are needed to tutor an English speaking or non-English speaking adult in reading, writing and speaking in English. Volunteers are prepared for tutoring through a 14-hr. Tutor Training Workshop.

Ongoing, staffed 24 hours/day by volunteers
10 volunteers, Minimum age 18
Volunteers are needed 8-12 hours per month to answer phones, greet visitors, take messages, assist residents, monitor activities, etc. Volunteers are asked to commit to two 4-hour shifts or or one overnight shift per month. Shifts are Monday - Sunday, 8 a.m.-12 p.m., 12-4 p.m., 4-7 p.m. and 7 p.m.-7 a.m.

In-Home Patient Care Volunteer

Provide companionship, respite and a caring presence to patients and their families in their home in the Rock County area. In addition, volunteers can assist patients and their families by providing light housekeeping, meal preparation, transportation and running errands. Patient care volunteers receive 22 hours of training before placement.

Life Review Volunteer

12 volunteers, minimum age 14
Volunteers will participate in a new program that involves interviewing patients and families, and then creating a life-honoring memento. Projects will include writing a narrative of the patient's life, assisting family  in choosing pictures to make a photo memory book or a DVD with family pictures, or producing an edited audio CD of an interview with the patient. People with listening skills, writing skills, computer skills (especially teens) and creativity needed! Volunteers will participate in training sessions prior to involvement in the project.

Facility Patient Care Volunteer

Provide companionship and a caring presence to patients in community based residential facilities, skilled nursing facilities and assisted living facilities in the Rock County area. Publicity and Marketing Team Member

As part of a team, write press releases, newspaper articles, design posters, brochures, print ads and marketing materials. Marketing assignments are usually divided among a team member's interests and talents. Good communication skills and creative talent essential. Background in journalism, marketing, public relations or design a plus but not required. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Access to a computer and Internet is required.

With direction of the community coordinator, floating office assistants will work on short term or one time projects to support our staff. Projects include general office tasks such as copying, collating, stapling, filing, typing and assembling mail. These projects usually involve short periods of time during normal business hours and are occasional. Volunteers need the ability to work independently or with direction and also as a team.

Individuals who love the Evansville community are needed to share the Evansville Community Partnership mission. Community Ambassadors would staff information tables at various community events. Friendly, positive and enthusiastic individuals would enjoy this activity. Need to have fantastic ability to communicate with people. Volunteers would hand out brochures, chat with community members, share information, welcome new people to the community and re-energize long-time residents.

Demonstrate and show area elementary students crafts, hobbies and talents that might have been learned from parents or grandparents. Folk Fairs are living history lessons. A few of the current displays include chair caning, butter churning and demonstrating the lap dulcimer. We are looking for volunteers who would like to share their knowledge and/or items in regards to the Civil War, railroads, one room school houses, canning food or any other area of interest.

A community member is needed to take the lead as the Children's Activities Coordinator(s) at our annual Chili Cook-Off event. This is an Evansville tradition that is family friendly. It will take place on a Saturday in February or March. ECP will provide crafts and materials. You work with other volunteers to plan activities, supervise children 13 and under, and help set-up and take down on the day of the event.
